Vuba Stone Resurfacing

Luxury Natural Stone Overlays For Patios, Pool Decks & Entryways

Transform cracked, worn, or outdated concrete, including driveways, patios, and pool decks, into a stunning, highly porous, slip-resistant natural stone surface. May River Concrete Coatings is the region's certified specialist in hand-troweled Vuba Stone overlays.

The Science of Luxury Surfacing

What is Vuba Stone?

Vuba Stone is an architectural-grade, resin-bound surfacing system that fuses hand-selected natural marble and quartz aggregates with an advanced, UV-stable aliphatic polyurethane binder. Hand-troweled directly over your existing concrete, it creates a seamless, highly durable stone carpet that permanently resolves structural and aesthetic flaws.

Unlike traditional polyaspartic floor coatings or paint that sit on top of concrete and trap moisture, Vuba Stone is engineered with an open-matrix structure. This allows water to filter directly through the stone layer, eliminating surface runoff, puddles, and hydroplaning hazards completely. While our garage floor coatings provide industrial durability indoors, Vuba Stone delivers natural beauty for outdoor spaces.

Our Installation Method

The Vuba Stone Process

A flawless, long-lasting resin-bound stone surface requires meticulous preparation and expert craftsmanship. Here is how we deliver perfection on every project.

01

Substrate Prep

Pressure-wash removes all dirt and debris. Diamond grinding is applied only when needed to level uneven surfaces. We repair structural cracks and spalling damage thoroughly.

02

Priming & Edging

Industrial-grade primer maximizes adhesion and bonding strength. Heavy-duty aluminum or brass trim is installed along all edges for a clean, sturdy, professional border.

03

Hand-Troweling

Certified artisans mix natural stone aggregates with UV-stable resin and hand-trowel the material to a seamless, uniform depth of approximately 3/8 inch throughout.

04

Curing & QA

The surface cures for 24 to 48 hours under controlled conditions. Final quality-assurance inspection guarantees a beautiful, highly porous, and durable finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Vuba Stone FAQ

Learn more about the durability, maintenance, and installation of our premium resin-bound stone surfacing systems.

What makes Vuba Stone different from traditional concrete coatings?

Unlike traditional solid coatings (like epoxy or polyaspartic) which seal the concrete surface, Vuba Stone is a highly porous, resin-bound natural stone system. It allows water to drain directly through the stone matrix into the ground or sub-base, completely eliminating standing water and puddles.

Can Vuba Stone be installed over cracked or damaged concrete?

Yes. Vuba Stone is highly flexible and is hand-troweled at a thickness of approximately 3/8", allowing it to easily bridge, conceal, and absorb minor concrete cracks, surface spalling, and uneven joints without reflecting those imperfections to the surface.

Does Vuba Stone get hot in the direct summer sun?

No. Because Vuba Stone is composed of natural marble and quartz aggregates with open void spaces, it does not absorb or retain heat the way solid concrete, dark pavers, or tile do. It remains significantly cooler and more comfortable underfoot, making it ideal for pool decks.

How do you clean and maintain a Vuba Stone surface?

Vuba Stone is exceptionally low-maintenance. Regular cleaning simply involves hosing it down or pressure washing it on a light setting to clear away dirt and organic debris. Because it is highly permeable, water washes right through, leaving a clean, dry surface.
